Evolution- The development of adaptations in organisms over time to better suit their environment.
Evolution is a theory as it is widely accepted by many people however it is not considered factual. It is factual however that animals and other organisms have changed over the years.

ReplyDeleteI like your meme! I'm interested in what you said about evolution being widely accepted as a theory. Does public perception impact whether something is true or not? The scientific community overwhelmingly supports evolution as an explanation of observable facts, but there are many people in the world who don't believe in it. What might you say to them about evolution?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely I think public perception impacts whether something is true or not. All I can say is I would show as much factual evidence I have and put on an optimistic face.

ReplyDeleteI like your definition. It is easy to follow and explains the basic concept. I think the interesting part about evolution is how there is so much gray area. When thinking about the idea of evolution, it seems like the answer should be simple. But just like this assignment, it proves that we all interpret evolution differently. There are so many definitions a different ways of explaining the concept. I think its also interesting to analyze fact vs theory with evolution. The phenomena is widely understood like you stated but there is so much more question surrounding the subject than other scientific findings. Its interesting how we say "evolution is just a theory" but we don't hold gravity to the same standard, like "gravity is just a theory". Gravity is easier to prove though with math and experiments though. Overall great blog and I loved the fun graphics.
